Intelligent Media Technologies - imediate specialises in Portal Development, Web Based Application Development, ECM Consulting Services, Information Architecture (All Content Methodologies).
imediate also operated one of the very first Digital Signage networks in South Africa, using remote content delivery to multiple advertising screens mainly in the West and East Coasts of South Africa (based on the NAVORI system), touchscreen and touch film window displays utilising Ubiq Window
After leaving Anglo, joined Coastal News Media as Editor, ... making up ads, all design and layout in QuarkXpress and Photoshop, transforming the look of the newspaper into a much more funky look and feel.
I really wanted to get started on the initial concepts of IMEDIATE, starting RENDERCAST as a Digital Advertising Company (delivering targeted multimedia advertising to restaurants, malls all over the West Coast).
Also decided to start my own VERY FUNKY ENGLISH newspaper on the West Coast called the footprint, at the same time launching imediate live on the beach during the Hobie World Champs in Langebaan, utilising the NAVORI platform.
imediate launched its digital broadcast network on the beach in Langebaan, at the Hobie Tiger & Dragoon Worlds Championships in March 2008. With only a handful of screens scattered at the best restaurants around Langebaan and at the Laguna Mall, imediate and the footprint, official media providers for the Hobie Worlds Championships, broadcast live footage and results to the restaurants.
Content Stream, Business Analyst on Portal Project JHB, London & Chile, Information Architecture.
As Namakwa Sands and Anglo Chile were the only two Anglo Base Metal sites to hold vast content repositories, and running in house developed portal solutions, I was seconded to the Anglo Head office as Business Analyst, working from Johannesburg, London and Santiago, Chile.
At the time the Anglo IBM Websphere project was the biggest IBM portal project... I wrote the content methodologies and developed the requirements gathering business processes for Anglo Base Portal , developing all the time an "improved information architecture" for the project.
Great time... great project
Joined NS, initially as an IT Engineer, but decided to put my creative skills to use and developed the Namakwa Sands Intranet/Portal. Wrote a complete Document Management System for Namakwa Sands, which contributed to their ISO9001 accreditation.
The DMS system I wrote is still in use today at Namakwa Sands.. other systems I was working on at the time was an Incidence Reporting Management system for SHEQ/Risk Management... I was asked to assist Anglo Base Metals Head Office with the research and evaluation of a Enterprise Document Management Solution, and the integration of products such as ISOMetriX.
Media Partner for Standard Bank Jazzathon Festival; Elixir People's Portal; Heinz Kaspir Chronologic; SHAWU.... theplanetart was an upmarket Design, Art and Recording Studio and Art Gallery.
The Consultancy Network was a small venture to forge together independent IT consultants for larger projects.
Siyanda was one of the first (but premature) satellite broadband delivery systems in South Africa.
In a nutshell, my job was to develop strategies to sell the product to the corporate sector, finding niche applications for the product, and integration of Siyanda into corporate IT infrastructures.
Clients at the time included Sanlam, Pick and Pay, Checkers, Old Mutual etc... Unfortunately for all on the project, the product was too early to market, broadband costs were just NOT competitive and delivery mechanisms unreliable.
DBA MS SQL, Aggresso and Timeview systems. Edsaco (Bentinck) was an offshore investment portfolio management company in the Isle of Man.
IT Manager for the offices in Chiswick and Acton Park, London... Large portion of time was spent on the migration from Apple Talk network to a Windows NT/PC LAN environment.

The Company was based in Princeton, New Jersey and has other offices in London, Buenos Aires, Detroit, Minneapolis, Poughkeepsie, NY and Tampa.
TRC was acquired by Harris Interactive
On arrival in London, and shortly after joining Research Europe, was promoted to Graphics Production Manager in charge of all graphics production for the London Office, working out of Chiswick.
John Murphy saw my IT skills and asked me to join Total Research (sister company) as IT Manager
A "bridge the gap" leading up to my departure to the UK. Banana Republic partnered with Clear Communication as a Graphics Production / Multimedia Production company... corporate branding, graphic design, print design, writing copy for ads, video post production on the MAC based Media100 system.
NanoTech was "MCA Data Systems" version 2, bigger, but not necessarily better. Cape Town based, 7-9 employees, SMME market... the glorious days of LANtastic and Novell. Decided to close business down due to personal reasons
MCA Data Systems was my first business. PC/LAN consulting to the SMME sector, days of XT's, 286's and 386's, PCAnywhere, Novell and LANtastic.... good old days
Employed as Branch Admin Manager (Cape Town Office BEX) in the Finance department and seconded to BDS because of my inherited IT Skills... It was at the time PC based LAN systems started taking over from systems such as the IBM System 36 and Data General MV2000. I managed the change over process to Novell, installing LAN environment, applications roll outs.
The General Manager at the time, recognised that IT was one of my passions and suggested I start up an IT Consulting business of my own, which I did as MCA Data Systems
First placement after 2 year National Service in the the Army. Assistant bookkeeper, was in charge of all company purchases, secondary function was maintaining the IBM System 36 and then very "rudimentary" PC Network
